The beginning of my journey was nerve racking. I had never flown anywhere on my own especially not international. As I borded the first plane I can say I was afraid, but once the plane took off I felt better and it hit me that I was heading to the United Kingdom. I had a layover in Atlanta and it was a quick one. It gave me time to go buy some food and then go board the next flight. I got to London- Gatwick Airport at around 6:40am (London time). I was exhausted, but still took a train to "London Victoria" station. It was a quick ride. I met one girl who will be doing the Sussex program as well. I met up with Kathleen at the station and head to her home. London has a lot of historical building. Not going to lie I got excited when I saw the Red buses we see on TV when there is scenes of London. It was cool!
Kathleen and I relaxed a bit while we both catched up with each other. Afterward, we went into London. You can basically get everywhere in public transportation :) We walked all over London and was able to experience some of it. There is a lot of tourist.... Like a lot!!! Everywhere you go you bump into one of them.
It was weird seeing people drive on the left. Every time we crossed a road I looked the wrong way so I just followed Kathleen to be on the safe side. After exploring London... I am in need of a nap then maybe I will explore more... Here are some pictures of my first day in London.
